I have been working in a serving job for 2 years now.
They have me working doubles, pulling over 12 hours some nights, then going back to work after 8 hours of sleep.

I'm still getting paid minimum wage.

I don't know how to go about asking for a raise. I don't want to keep working at a job where I'm busting my butt for min. wage, where my co-worker doesn't do crap and gets paid 12$/hr.

Should I look for another job? I dont want to get stuck in the same situation again in another job. Thanks Borgus, I know it feels like it's dead-end. The treatment is terrible there too.

I'm going on the third year right now for my bachelor degree. THe serving job helped me pay off my most of my student loan, so I don't really want to leave it right now. But at the same time, I don't want to kill myself for minimum wage, pulling full time hourse, where my coworker gets paid almost double… I feel like I'm getting screwed. Thanks Jen,

I guess I knew that in the back of my head all along, I just didn't want to accept it.

Finding a new job is going to be tough 🙁 To Beth,

You are so right. Serving jobs are terrible, my boss has been promising me a promotion to supervisor for 6 months now. Tough chance.

But I will take your advice. Thank you.

Gotta go work on my resume now.
